Sanlorenzo has launched the second yacht in its 50Steel series at its shipyard in La Spezia.
This marks the second launch out of a total of five units already allocated to clients, positioning the 50Steel model as a benchmark in the sub-500 gross ton superyacht segment.
The first 50Steel unit was launched in 2024 under the name Almax. During the summer of 2024, this model introduced Sanlorenzo’s Reformer Fuel Cell system powered by green methanol to the industry. This represents a significant advancement in onboard energy production, as the green methanol fuel cell system converts methanol into hydrogen and then into electrical energy to power the yacht’s hotel systems. With this innovation, Sanlorenzo further reinforced its position as a shipyard that does not merely follow industry trends but actively shapes them.
One of the key elements of continuity within the 50Steel series is Sanlorenzo’s patented Hidden Engine Room system. With this solution, the engine room layout has been reorganized: instead of the traditional two-level configuration, a horizontal arrangement of propulsion systems and a new organization of technical spaces below the lower deck have been implemented. This frees up valuable space on the lower deck and allows for the creation of an additional guest lounge.
The exterior design of the second 50Steel unit is by Zuccon International Project, while the interior has been developed by Sanlorenzo’s in-house design department.
“The 50Steel line best represents Sanlorenzo’s approach to innovation,” said Sanlorenzo CEO Tommaso Vincenzi.
“From the very first unit, it has introduced pioneering solutions that signal the direction our industry is heading. Market feedback confirms that owners recognize this direction not as an experiment, but as a compelling and desirable evolution of the superyacht.”
